Alondra Rios
Alondra Rios is a Puerto Rican director, actor, and playwright based in Chicago. She studied at Northwestern University with a B.A. in Theatre and a certificate in Music Theatre and Playwriting. Recent acting credits include: American Music Theatre Project: Desaparecidas (Northwestern University) and Side by Side by Sondheim (Oil Lamp Theatre.) She is also a devoted corgi mom!
Alyssa Corrigan-Cuadrado
Alyssa Corrigan-Cuadrado is honored to appear in her second theatrical production as part of Las Borinqueñas with Visión Latino Theatre Co. In 2023, she made her stage debut as Isabella in You Can’t Cover the Sky with Your Hand by Marisel Vera and Alyssa Vera Ramos, presented during Pivot Arts’ The Memory Place: A Multi-Arts Experience at The Edge Off Broadway. A proud Boricua Irlandesa, Alyssa is passionate about preserving Puerto Rican culture through storytelling in all its forms, including theatre, photography, videography, and oral history. She is deeply grateful to the Vera family, Visión Latino, the cast, crew, and her community for their belief, encouragement, and support as she continues to grow in her artistic journey.
Audrey S. Romero
Audrey S. Romero is an actor, writer, and teaching artist based in Chicago, Illinois. Audrey is a graduate of The Theatre School at DePaul University with an MFA in Acting. Recent credits include: Amber in Poor Queenie (Subtext Studio Theatre Company); Cermon/Boult in Pericles, Myrrhine in Lysistrata (The Theatre School); Gabby in Have to Believe We Are Magic (TheatreSquared); Hero in Much Ado About Nothing (Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre). Audrey is thrilled to make their debut with Visión Latino Theatre Company to tell this informative story of the hidden history of America and to uplift the resilience of a community against oppression.
Daniela Martinez
Daniela Martinez is a Chicago-based actor, thrilled to be returning to her theatrical home as a VisionLatino ensemble member. Her favorite past credits include Artemis Books and The Well-meaning Man with The Village Theatre, Laced with About Face Theatre and The Wizards with Concrete Content. She is a recent graduate of THE ACADEMY at Black Box Acting Studio and is currently seeking theatrical representation. When she isn’t on stage you can find chasing the best strawberry matcha and building her small business La Mariposa community thrift store. Daniela is grateful to be returning to the stage with all the love and support from her parents, Julie, Kobe, River, and Miish Bebesh.

Katherine Schwartz
Katherine is thrilled to make her Visión Latino Theatre Company debut as Dr. Edris Rice-Wray in Las Borinqueñas. She was most recently seen as Agnes in A Bright Room Called Day with Blank Theatre Company, earning a Jeff nomination for Best Performer in a Principal Role, and as Masha in Three Sisters with Invictus Theatre Company. Other favorite past credits include Bessie in The Drowning Girls (Signal Ensemble Theatre, Jeff-nominated Best Ensemble) and The Liar (Promethean Theatre Ensemble). Recent work includes In the Back/On the Floor (Stage Left Theatre), Vanya on the Plains and Miracle on 34th Street: A Radio Play (The Artistic Home). Additional credits: Zoyka’s Apartment(Bluebird Arts), Fault Lines (Broken Road Theatre), A Tale of Two Cities (Lifeline Theatre), In Pigeon House (Irish Theatre of Chicago), and Viola in Twelfth Night (Leftend Productions). She has also performed with Shattered Globe, Mary-Arrchie, The Factory, Circle Theatre, Navy Pier, and more.
Kidany Camilo
KIDANY CAMILO [Any/All Pronouns - Todxs/Cualquier Pronombre] Originally from Bayamón, Puerto Rico, Kidany is multi-hyphenate theatre artist based in Chicago, IL. Chicago credits include: Abuela’s Follies (Subtext Studio TC), Onilé Iya (Aguijón Theater), Fefu and Her Friends (Snails on a Bike), Jump the Shark (About Face Theatre), Women Beware Women (Blue in the Right Way), Sweet 15: Quincerañera (Sweet15 LLC), Measure for Measure, and ShakesFest! (Chicago Shakespeare Theater). Regional credits include: The Vote (Studio Theatre Tierra del Sol), Mojada (Indianapolis Shakespeare Company), Four Guys Named José (Stageworks Theatre), These Shining Lives (Powerstories Theatre), James and the Giant Peach (ThinkTank Theatre). Nelson Rodriguez
Nelson A. Rodriguez is an actor and playwright. He is thrilled to be working with Visión Latino where he previously appeared in That Must Be The Entrance To Heaven which received a Best Ensemble nomination at the Jeff Awards. He was also nominated for Best Solo Performance forMen on the Verge of a His-Panic Breakdown. His other stage credits include Steppenwolf Theatre Company, Lookingglass Theatre Company, Teatro Vista, A Red Orchid, Oak Park Festival Theatre, 16th Street Theatre, Steep Theatre Company, Raven Theatre, Subtext Studio Theatre, The Story Theatre, and many more. His on-camera credits include the feature films En Algun Lugar(TLA Releasing) for which he received a Best Supporting Actor nomination at the International Film Festival and Soul Sessions (Gravitas Ventures). As a playwright, his credits include Snapshots (Spartan Workshop 2016), Ropa Vieja(Broken Nose Theatre's Bechdel Fest 2017), New Personalidad (Inicios 2023, CLATA; DCASE Residency 2023, Visión Latino), Estrellazo (Lit Play Lab 2024, About Face Theatre/UIC), and The New World (The Vivero/A Red Orchid). Xavier M. Custodio, (Director) Co-Founder and Artistic Director of VLTC, is a Chicago-based director whose work often amplifies Latino stories. His directing credits include That Must Be the Entrance to Heaven (Jeff Award for Director – Short Run and Production – Short Run), Sancocho, Yellow Eyes, Y Tu Abuela, Where is She? (world premiere), Revolt! (world premiere), Parachute Man (Teatro Vista, assistant director), In the Heights, and Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery (Metropolis Theater). Nelson Diaz-Marcano
Nelson Diaz-Marcano is a Puerto Rican NYC-based theater maker, advocate, and community leader whose mission is to create work that challenges and builds community. He currently serves as the Literary Director for the Latinx Playwright Circle where he has helped develop over a 100 plays in the past three years. His plays have been developed by the Ensemble Studio Theatre, The Road Theatre Company, Pipeline Theatre Company, Clubbed Thumb, The Lark, Vision Latino Theater Company, The Orchard Project, The William Inge Theatre Festival, Classical Theatre of Harlem, and The Parsnip Ship, among others. Recent credits include: World Classic (Bishop Theatre Arts Center), Y Tu Abuela, Where is She? Part 1 (CLATA), When the Earth Moves, We Dance (Clubbed Thumb, Teatro Vivo), The Diplomats (Random Acts Chicago), Paper Towels (INTAR), Misfit, America (Hunter Theatre Company), I Saw Jesus in Toa Baja (Conch Shell Productions), and Revolt! Yajaira I. Custodio
Yajaira I. Custodio (Costume Designer) is the Co-Founder and Associate Artistic Director of Visión Latino Theatre Company. She is a proud Puerto Rican, Chicago-based, multi-hyphenated artist dedicated to amplifying underrepresented voices and stories through the power of the stage. Through her work with Visión Latino, Yajaira strives to highlight and elevate narratives that are rarely produced, celebrating the richness and resilience of the Latino community. Yajaira extends her deepest gratitude to the incredible Visión Latino team—though small in number, our impact is undeniably mighty. She also shares heartfelt appreciation for the cast, creative team, her parents, her daughter Rio, Queen B, Steph, and nephews Elias & Mateo for your unwavering support.

Shayna Patel
Shayna Patel (SCENIC DESIGNER) based in Chicago. She is excited to be back to do her fourth show at Vision Latino Theatre Company. Her previous credits include The Chaos Theory of Everything, Judy’s Beat Lounge, Oh The Places You’ll Glow and The Best Kept Secret: Tell Everyone! (The Second City), Misery and Golden Leaf Ragtime Blues (American Blues Theatre), The Kid at The Edge of Everything (COCA- St Louis), A View From The Bridge (Shattered Globe), Last Stop on Market Street, Junie B. Jones and Dory Fantasmagory (Young People’s Theatre Chicago), Jocey Y Las Mariachis, That Must Be The Entrance To Heaven, and Sancocho (Vision Latino Theatre Company), and National Merit (Boho Theatre Company), and Subaru Forester Exhibition (Chicago Auto Show & New York International Auto Show 2024). Born in England, she later moved to Chicago for college and fell in love with the city. She holds a BA, Summa Cum Laude in Theatre Design.
Sebastian 'SeaBass' Medina
Sebastian 'SeaBass' Medina (LIGHTING DIRECTOR) is a Latino Chicago based lighting designer and a graduate of The Theatre School at DePaul University. This is his fourth year with VisionLatino Theatre, previously working on Jocey and Los Mariachis, That Must Be The Entrance to Heaven, and Sancocho. Outside of this, he’s worked for the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago Opera Festival, Identity Performing Arts and Concert Dance.
Kyle Anthony Cortes
Kyle Anthony Cortés, M.M. (He/Him), is a Chicago-based sound designer, composer, singer-actor, and music director of Puerto Rican and Afro-Colombian descent. He's most excited by collaborations on new plays and multi-disciplinary works that explore the bounds of our different artistic mediums (acting, movement, sound, and music) for authentic storytelling. As a sound designer, his recent credits include working with companies such as The Goodman Theatre, The Second City Theatre, Visión Latino Theatre Co., Artemisia Theatre, Definition Theatre, and Filament Theatre. He's also had the pleasure of music directing with companies such as The Goodman Theatre Ed., The Second City Theatre, ChiArts Choirs, ChiArts Theatre, Forevermore Dance and Theater, and Citadel Theatre Ed. He is a faculty member of the music conservatory at The Chicago High School for the Arts (ChiArts) (Humboldt Park).
Amy Delgado-Swanson
Amy Delgado-Swanson (STAGE MANAGER) she / they is excited to be back with Vision Latino Theatre Company after their collective Non-Equity Jeff Award win for Best Short-Run Production of That Must Be the Entrance to Heaven. Amy is an Equity Membership Candidate actor and stage manager who prioritizes telling BIPOC and queer stories. They recently recorded the original cast album as the character Sil for Sofa King Queer as part of the production with Nothing Without a Company, streaming on all major platforms. Amy is thankful for their spouse, dog Kovu, family, and close friends for their support.
